Leagues Explained
BAA Season
For the purposes of qualification for the BAA Grand Prix Finals, BAA Dog of the Year Awards and Promotion to a new level, the BAA Season finishes on the last day of the August finals show, the last day of the BAA Grand Prix Finals. The next Season starts on 1st September, ending with the conclusion of the subsequent Grand Prix Finals competition.
Qualification for the BAA Grand Prix Finals
- Results obtained in all BAA Shows up to the closing date for entries to the BAA Grand Prix Finals will count towards qualification for the BAA Grand Prix Finals to be held at the EMDAC Show at Asfordby in August. Positions in the BAA Agility and BAA Jumping Leagues on that date will determine who automatically qualifies for the Agility and Jumping Finals.
- In the event of a qualifier not entering the Finals Show, the next highest placed dog in the Leagues will be awarded an automatic place in the Final.
- In the event of a qualifier entering but not attending the Finals Show, an extra place in the Final will be available through the qualifiers run on the same day.
Promotion & Dog of the Year Awards
- Results obtained in all BAA shows up to and including the BAA Grand Prix Finals to be held at the EMDAC Show at Asfordby in August will count towards the BAA Dog of the Year Awards and promotion for the following season.
- Please check the League Tables to see if you have qualified for promotion
- It is the responsibility of Show Organisers of shows held in the first three weeks of August to return their results for processing within 1 week of their respective shows to ensure that all issues are settled on the weekend of the BAA Grand Prix Finals.
- Promotion for the season will become effective from October 1st. Shows held in September will require entries to be submitted before promotion issues have been settled. Dogs will therefore continue to compete at their previous level until the end of September. Any points they win in that month will be carried forward into their new level from October 1st.
